Lynda was born into the heritage of Christian grandparents. Her mother was a believer but dad was a very nominal believer. Under the influence of her mother they attended church regularly. Shortly after they moved to Colorado when she was 8 years old, and gave her life to Christ. One day she was reading her Sunday School lesson and something in the lesson stood out in such a way that she wanted to know Jesus. She went downstairs and told Mom about it. They talked. She made and appointment for her to talk with their pastor. She committed her life to Christ and was baptized shortly thereafter. Their small church was missions-minded. They had a missionary from India come to Bible School in Denver and seeds of missions were planted in her heart.
After graduation with a degree in education, She taught for a short while then became involved in Campus Crusade. Then she taught in public school. She had close Christian friends and she began to travel abroad to tour and see friends. In 1992 the Lord told her to “sell what you had”, and was led to YWAM Denver where she did her DTS and then went to Uzbekistan after the Soviet Union broke up.
Later she became a part of a new church that had a big heart for missions and Israel. As a result, she began to do short term missions with various purposes, mostly teaching, to support workers in the field. In 2010 She took a TESOL course. The Lord opened the door for her to volunteer to support a missionary couple from her church going to Burundi. There she met Peter Taylor from South Africa and Australia who was working in a primary school for his Australian friend.
They began to spend time together in her Conversational English classes, at church and with their Christian friends. They were both single, never married. God had new plans for them as they grew in the Lord and closer together and they married in 2013.
Peter did a lot of research on YWAM and felt that would be the right avenue to serve overseas. In August 2018 they felt released to do an exploratory trip to Uganda there they visited YWAM Kampala and God led them to be part of YWAM Kampala to serve Jesus in this season.
